GST a boon for organized and curse for unorganized micro and small scale businesses. Rules are framed in such a manner that businesses below the threshold limit of 20 lakh rupees can't do business with large businesses. Business entities opting for compounding scheme can't trade interstate. Tax credit on traveling expenses incurred in other state will not be available which is against the basics behind implementation of GST. GST doesn't look favourable to micro, small businesses. Government's approach should have been towards a liberal GST and gradual move towards increasing the coverage under GST but fact is otherwise. Technically GST will be good for businesses but we majority of small businesses are not ready for it. Network connectivity is another major concern for businesses in remote areas. Now, we have no option but to wait and watch the effects of GST with a dream of favourable.
