Drivers safety

There are lot of improvement in various features of automobiles like the mileage, luxury, to be less harmful to nature etc... Inspite of any modifications in these technologies, one thing will remain common is that it is to be controlled by a human being and mistakes does occur by humans while driving a car. In such conditions the car should be sufficiently smart to ensure driver safety in worst case scenario. 
    In formula student events the driver safety is given importance as given to other technical terms related to cars.Impact attenuator is used to provide minimum damage during collision.  Drivers are required to wear a full protection driver suit which  gives protection towards any harm like fire. Also the three switches that are mounted on the car i.e master switch, cockpit mounted kill switch  and brake over travel switch. This can prevent the driver as well as the car in panic situation.
Taking drivers safety in mind many revolutionary changes has been made in automobiles for drivers safety like seatbelts. These seatbelts are normally used in all the automobiles to ensure perfect position of the driver when car undergoes unexpected deflections. Thanks to Volvo for opening up the patent of its three point seatbelt a simple technique used in seatbelt now used in many automobiles on a large scale. The use of airbags in cars ensures drivers safety in accidental situations. It's also automatically operated when the front part of the car strikes any rigid surface which tends to stop the car at the instant it automatically opens the airbags which is normally inside the steering wheel and prevent the collision of the driver with the iinner body of the car. This action takes place in a fraction of time and it should for efficient work. When anyone is in a sinking car at this times most of the electronic door windows fails to operate hence it is recommended to use head restraint to break the window to escape out.
 Many technologies has also been used to provide this collision. One of the solution by google is the driverless cars which is in the testing phase. According to google this car can drive more smoothly and safely than professional drivers. Also there is another technology that ensures safe driving is the v2v(vehicle to vehicle) communications. In this technology the vehicles which are in same path can "talk" to each other in terms of sharing data like speed, their next turn etc.. By receiving ones information other car will smartly make it move. This technology avoids collision between vehicles many automobile companies are working  towards implementing this technology. There are also many crash tests carried out of cars by using a dummy and studying the after collision effects on it. This improvement in terms of the driver safety is heading in positive way to ensure more safe driving.
